Not Baaad Sundays BLOG HOP - Lazy Monday Edition

Welcome to another Not "Baaad" Sundays blog hop! Yes, I'm posting this a little (okay, a lot) late this weekend, but I have a good excuse. Spread the word to your friends that the linky is up - encourage my laziness!

I've been having a blogless weekend. Sexy Nerd and I rode the Rail Runner to Santa Fe, we baked our own pizza, made two kinds of hummus, watched Next Food Network Star (love it!) and I created a Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chocolate Cake. Plenty of blog fodder for the future, as soon as I get off my lazy rump and write the posts.

Link up all day Monday. I also have another snazzy, spectacular bunch of blogger nominees for the Best in Show award. However will you choose a favorite?
The Decorative Paintbrush
Mommy Minded
CraftLinky.com
Show Me Crafting (aaaaaw!)
bcp...My Life
Blooms and Bugs
Mary's Meanderings
Making Jewelry Now
Voting (right sidebar) will run throughout this week. The popular blogger with the most votes will find themselves with the…

And the Winner is...

...the super duper blogger who posted this:
Bugs!! Who else here wants to rescue the baby from the cricket? He likes bugs, but still...blech!  and this:
Valentine's Party Too early to think about February, you say? Nonsense! The grocery stores here in Albuquerque are already stocked for Halloween. Valentine's Day is going to be here before you know it.
Congratulations, Kara at The exception, not the rule...the Swindells! For your Best in Show award, I have two buttons for you to choose from this week:

On a side note, I keep getting the feeling that there is a bug crawling up my foot. Thank you for that, Kara ;)
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Not "Baaad" Sundays blog hop! Check back this weekend for another fun link-up party and another chance to win the Best in Show award!

3 Minute S'mores Recipe

If you're a fellow Family Guy fan, you surely remember the episode where Peter and Bill Clinton have the munchies and talk about stealing and eating a pig. It went something along the lines of "We could totally eat that pig, man. It could be in our stomachs in, like, a minute." People, these smores are your one minute pig.
If you're not a fellow Family Guy fan, I've surely just lost you forever as a reader here. Sorry.
These are perfect when you're craving a quick, sugary treat. They work equally well in a toaster oven and a convection oven. Best of all, compared to eating an entire bag of Oreos (something I've never done...wink, wink), they're quite healthy.
Step 1: Put desired amount of graham crackers on a toaster oven/convection oven-safe pan. Looks like it's time to clean this pan, Sexy Nerd

Optional 1st step, which is Sexy Nerd's favorite: Spread peanut butter on each graham cracker. I'm not much of a peanut butter fan so I skip thi…

The Winner of the Best in Show Award

After an exciting week of voting, a winning blog has jumped ahead of all the competition.

Cue snazzy music!
The winning blog can teach you how to make these easy (and sooo yummy looking!) cheesecake bars.
The winning blog has super-cute photos! See that little guy on the right? He recently had a birthday party.
And, of course, the winning blogger receives a fancy schmancy award from LambAround: Ta da! Fancy schmancy, right?
Congratulations, Everyday Easy! I hope my readers will stop by today with some bloggy love for you. Leon is so stinking cute. I think Pica and Biscuit are a little jealous!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Not "Baaad" Sundays blog hop. Stay tuned for this weekend's linky, which will be up tomorrow, along with another fabulous bunch of Best in Show nominees to vote for.

Puppy Wearing a Cone!

After she was spayed, Sexy Nerd and I requested that Pica be sent home wearing a cone (really, how much can you trust a Jack Russell not to chew her stitches?) The veterinarian thought it was unnecessary, but complied.
Post-surgery and drugged out of her little mind, we put Pica straight to bed. After she had rested, the real fun began...
I love when she walks into the lamp. Bonk!

Giveaway! 16x20 Photo Canvas from UPrinting

I just created a photo canvas on UPrinting.com and am pleased to report back that it couldn't be easier. I love the "make background' option (perfect when your original photo and your desired photo are different dimensions) and it's even possible to design a collage. A canvas print (ooh, or canvas prints!) with wedding photos sounded good at first, possibly in a variety of canvas sizes, but I soon realized that I was more interested in making a ginormous version of this:

Remember when I dyed my hair blonde and asked if it would be too weird to have this photo enlarged and hung on my wall? I decided to do it anyway, weird or no weird. (And I think we all know which of the two this is.)
According to Marinelle at UPrinting.com, who contacted me for this giveaway, UPrinting.com is an online printing company that has earned customer loyalty by offering more customizable offset printing and digital printing options than other online printers. They are popular for their Free …

BLOG HOP! Vote and Link Up

Friends, welcome to another Not "Baaad" Sundays blog hop! The past few weekends have been dedicated to the BEST of the Best in Show competition, so we need to play a little bit of catch-up with the Best in Show nominees.

Wait! Keep reading! I promise you it's more fun than I just made it sound. Three weeks worth of linky parties have created the following drool-inducing list of nominees, in what can only be summed up as the Best in Show Sweet Treat Edition:
(You're welcome.)
Eat Cake for Dinner - my kinda blog title and general rule of life.
Prunille Fait Son Show ("Prunille Puts On a Show")
Hezzi-Ds Books and Cooks
Pinch of This, That, & the Other - Pancakes aren't your idea of a sweet treat? These are made with cake batter! Mmmmm. Making Memories With Your Kids
Screaming Sardine - No worries. The title of the blog is no indication of the "surprise" in this German Chocolate Surprise Cake. (Whew!)
The Sweet Details - I'm fairly certain the sun…

Boss Quote of the Day

Hmmm...do I dare risk the job I love to poke fun at my boss?

Yes. It's just that funny.

Here she is throwing my painstakingly organized charts to the ground, while grinning like a Cheshire cat.
I put them away shortly after taking this photo. She has since pulled them all out again, several times.
Anyhoo...

My boss was trying to tell us about a movie sequel that is coming out, but couldn't remember the name of the movie. She said "They made the 1st one a few years ago. 4 or 5 years, I think it was. It's based on a book."

Knowing her, my first guess was correct. Waiting to Exhale. The only thing I remember about this movie was that I snuck out of bed to secretly watch it after my parents rented it. 5 years. 15. Whatever.

My boss continued. "It was written by a black author. Oh, what is her name? I saw her on Oprah. Uhh...Toni Braxton! That's who wrote Waiting to Exhale. And now Toni Braxton is working on a sequel."

I laughed so hard, she was making me …
