Stripper Bar

I'm about ready to go to bed, but before I do, let me share one more photo from our trip to Las Vegas. At the time, I was just photographing the giant girl at the Stripper Bar. It wasn't until later, when we returned home and were looking through the camera, that I noticed the person at the bottom of my photo. Click the image to enlarge Makes me happy to be married!

Buffet of Buffets Pass

We're home from our Las Vegas getaway and had an amazing time. Let's begin with the highlight of our trip - the food! We booked a hotel package that included two Buffet of Buffets passes.  That's right - 24 hours of nonstop Vegas buffets! My goal was to eat at all 6 that are included with the Buffet of Buffets Pass .  Unfortunately, we didn't factor in the heavy surcharges (on top of the already expensive pass?!) required to dine at 2 of the 6 or the absurdly long lines. Unless you're extremely patient and are okay with paying at least $50 more per person, you're not going to make it to all 6 buffets. Buffet of Buffets Pass Q. What is the Buffet of Buffets Pass ? A. The Buffet of Buffets Pass provides unlimited entry to 6 Las Vegas buffets, including Flavors The Buffet, Le Village Buffet, and Spice Market Buffet, for 24 hours. Q. How much is the Buffet of Buffets Pass ? A. $59.99 per person Sunday-Thursday and $74.99 per person Friday-Satu

Albuquerque Sunset

On Saturday, I got the random thought in my head that I should update my version of Firefox. To make a long story short, all my bookmarks are gone! Geez. So many recipes! So many blogs! This unfortunate experience made me realize that I should really be backing up my computer more frequently. What if, in addition to my bookmarks, my other files had been affected? I have more photos on my computer than will fit on a DVD (even a couple DVDs!) While rummaging through them all, I've come across many that I had intended to blog about, but were somehow forgotten. Here is one of those sets of photos, taken from Albuquerque, NM:

Lamb Cooks and the Best in Show Award

Before I announce the winner of this week's Best in Show Award, I'd like to point out a snazzy new feature to LambAround. Well, two snazzy features, if you count my new layout (you did notice my fabulous new layout, right?) My recipes now have their very own dedicated blog! Click the Lamb Cooks button above to visit (*ahem*, this button layout is also new and it took me just about forever to figure out.) Now, on to the award! Thanks so much to everyone who took time to vote for the Best in Show Award last week! It was a close race, but one blogger ultimately came out on top. Congratulations, Nikki at The Best Part of Believe !  I really like your Earth Week Event 2011 tab, which features some great "green" ideas. I'm hoping my LambAround readers will visit and congratulate you. I'm sure they'll enjoys posts like:   Nails on a Budget . I Forgot My Common Sense Inside The House

I went to get the mail the other afternoon, which in our neighborhood means going to the end of the street to a community mailbox. On my walk there, I passed a man who was going in and out of people's yards. He was maybe in his late 20s/early 30s and I just assumed he was checking the meters for the electric company. I thought nothing of seeing him walk up my driveway right before returning to my house, as I figured he'd walk to the meter and continue on his way. Nope. He was standing at my front door when I arrived and didn't look like he planned to leave any time soon. I'm not a social person by any stretch of the imagination, especially after a long day at my socially demanding job. When I'm just dashing down to get the mail in a ratty t-shirt and old shorts, this is even more true. The man, who was hovering over me at well over 6 feet tall, explained that our neighbor across the street had quite the cockroach infestation and that he had just finished spraying t

Let's Party! Not "Baaad" Blog Hop

The Best in Show Award competition is exciting this week! I'll announce the winner tomorrow. So far it's impossible to say who it might be. Camp Blogaway - Yes or No?

Something finally came along and kicked my cooking and my blogging laziness out of the way - Camp Blogaway! Yes, I have almost officially decided to go. "Almost" because my feet are still somewhat cold (isn't social anxiety just such a blast?) and "almost" because I haven't officially registered yet. Getting to LAX from Albuquerque is expensive, and getting to the recommended airport, Ontario, is even pricier! And, keeping in tune with the typical 'screw you' nature of the airline industry, airfare for my trip jumped from $200 to $320 overnight! Lovely. From the Camp Blogaway site: Take a Refreshing Hike, use Free Time to meet-up under peaceful pines, chat by the Roaring Fireplace, stay up late with peers in our Mountain Lodge, socialize with newfound friends during Wente Vineyards Wine Tastings, and more. *So Fun!*  Our first evening together, every attendee is introduced to the full group. The goal: no missed meetups at Camp!

Bad Albuquerque!

In our neighborhood, there is a group that comes by once a month to pick up donations for charity. Sexy Nerd and I gathered up a little of everything they were requesting - kitchen appliances, sheets, cutlery, blankets, clothes, shoes, etc. - and left our donation on the curb. We had 6 large boxes for charity, clearly marked with the bright orange pick-up tab we'd received in the mail. The donations were picked up. Great, right? Our donations were picked up by the wrong people. They were STOLEN! What kind of loser goes around stealing from charity? Perhaps the next time donations are being collected, we should leave a great, big box of dog poop.
