Amerisleep AS3 Reviews

My Amerisleep AS3 Unboxing Video (Surprise, my voice is ridiculous!) If I can (just barely) do it, you can totally tackle a bed-in-a-box by yourself. Updated 10/15/22 Amerisleep's AS5 was recently featured as the 'Best Soft Mattress in a Box' by Good Housekeeping , with the panel of reviewers noting: Pressure relief for side sleepers Taller than other boxed mattresses Good customer service    Amerisleep Mattress Reviews  We've been happy Amerisleep customers since purchasing our first AS3 mattress more than 9 years ago. Now we also have an AS2 and an AS4 (the AS3 is still our favorite). Born with chronic insomnia  (even as a baby - my family insists I was a nightmare), the struggle to improve my sleep is my life. My husband, the overly-analytical mechanical engineer, was initially skeptical of a mail-order mattress, but he was quickly won over. 2012: Wine glass test, sans wine. I was fairly confident our brand-new mattress would pass with f

Window Seat

My last window seat post was written in February, 2011, when we were planning to add a window seat to our home. Two+ years later, how is that window seat coming along? To quote Christmas Vacation, I can picture it in my mind and it's breathtaking. Sexy Nerd has been too busy to build my window seat. Between organizing his office , painting "meatballs" on his Mini Cooper , baking raw cookies , and napping while simultaneously watching Nascar , he just hasn't had the time. One day I'll get my window seat. How difficult do you think it would be for me to just build it myself? Keeping in mind that I'm not handy at all . Really, you may as well consider me the anti-handy. Here are some window seat ideas I've seen online. The 3rd photo looks doable. I could probably just put some cheap bookcases side by side and top them with a patio cushion from Home Depot. Of course, what I really want is the window seat from either the 1st or 2nd photo (al

Addicted to Realtor.com

Although it will probably be several years before we build a house on our 13 acres of mountain awesomeness , my eyes are always on the lookout for home ideas. This may have lead to me spending a few (only 6 or so) hours on Realtor.com yesterday. If you follow LambAround on Pinterest , you might have noticed a flood of home decor pins from me, many with the generic description "Find this home on realtor.com", as I was in too big of a hurry to pin the next photo to be bothered writing anything. As the point of this browsing was to find inspiration for our future dream home, it would make a lot of sense to search within the price range we'll be building in. The multimillion dollar homes just look so much better though! Here are some of my favorite photos: How can I duplicate this within our HOA's 2 story building limit? Also, how can I make this San Francisco home not look out of place in the mountains? That's silly. It would look adorable in the moun

Flooring Ideas

Ever since we purchased our 13.1 acre (gotta get credit for that extra 0.1 acre!) lot outside of Albuquerque last year, Sexy Nerd and I have devoted most of our free time to planning our mountain dream home. We cannot make a decision about a nything . At this point, it seems our best option would be to build a row of townhomes , each in a completely different style. On Monday, we would live in our colorful Victorian home, and later in the week we could switch things up in our ultra-contemporary, all concrete house. Since I can't imagine our neighborhood HOA (or our budget) ever allowing such a thing, we really do need to narrow down our list of ideas. Flooring is a tough choice. In our current home, we have premium laminate flooring. It stands up well against our rambunctious dogs, but is easily damaged if you unknowingly drip water onto it and let it sit, like by the dog's water bowl and the dishwasher.  We also have real wood flooring on our stairs and our bedro

Living Room Photos/Dream Home Ideas

It's lucky that we still have a few years before starting construction on our dream home. Okay, so this is "lucky" in the sense that, in the meantime, we are stuck listening to our trashy neighbors blast their car stereos so loudly that our walls shake. I hope their overstressed cars explode with them inside. Whoops! That got a bit off topic, didn't it? Anyhoo, I mean we are lucky because we have time to plan exactly what kind of house we want to build. I've been saving photos for years! Below are some of my favorite living rooms that I've come across. If anyone knows the site the photos originate from, please let me know so I can add a link. Just a few more years of dreaming. *Sigh*

Dining Room Ideas

Dining rooms! Should we go formal? Just a cozy nook off the kitchen? Do we even need a dining room at all or will a fancy kitchen island suffice? The most fun part of building our dream home is looking online for inspiration. Here are a few extravagant dining room photos I have saved. You might notice a theme while browsing these dining room ideas. Dining table + expensive, white rug underneath. It's an elegant thought, but we're sloppy joe people. Methinks not. The grouping of mirrors, that spiffy kitchen island, the crystals on the chandelier - I heart this dining room photo! Pretend the stairs stop at the dining table and the walls enclose each side. How fun would it be to have the dining room perched above the living room on its own mini-floor! I just don't trust myself to pull off white walls. Sure, it looks great here, but in real life, plain white always looks so...plain white. At least, it does when I try it. My favorite is the last one...no, the first. The tw

Window Seat Idea - Dream Home Inspiration of the Day

See it? Waaay at the back of the photo?  I like how the window seat extends past the window all the way to the wall. How about you? If that's not your style, how about one of these lovely window seats? I'll seat you, my pretty, and your little dog too. How perfect would this be in a home office? I'd swap out that wimpy rug with a larger one.

Dream Home Inspiration Photo of the Day

Yeah, you saw this yesterday. A house this beautiful deserves a post of its own!

Home Exterior Ideas

We probably won't be building our dream home in the mountains for another 5+ years, but Sexy Nerd and I are having trouble being patient. How can we own 13 acres and not do anything with it!? In the meantime, I've been combing through the internets for home design inspiration. That colorful Victorian in the 3rd collage is my favorite house of all time , but Sexy Nerd says that it's not at all "mountainy" and that it's not going to happen. Hey, Sexy Nerd! If you're not going to build a multicolored Victorian home, why build a home at all? I have gotten him to agree on red window panes with big, green shutters (and everyone knows that once it's blogged, there's no taking it back.) Score! *More fancy dream home ideas here!*
