Amerisleep AS3 Reviews

My Amerisleep AS3 Unboxing Video (Surprise, my voice is ridiculous!) If I can (just barely) do it, you can totally tackle a bed-in-a-box by yourself. Updated 10/15/22 Amerisleep's AS5 was recently featured as the 'Best Soft Mattress in a Box' by Good Housekeeping , with the panel of reviewers noting: Pressure relief for side sleepers Taller than other boxed mattresses Good customer service    Amerisleep Mattress Reviews  We've been happy Amerisleep customers since purchasing our first AS3 mattress more than 9 years ago. Now we also have an AS2 and an AS4 (the AS3 is still our favorite). Born with chronic insomnia  (even as a baby - my family insists I was a nightmare), the struggle to improve my sleep is my life. My husband, the overly-analytical mechanical engineer, was initially skeptical of a mail-order mattress, but he was quickly won over. 2012: Wine glass test, sans wine. I was fairly confident our brand-new mattress would pass with f

Road Trip Day 1: Albuquerque to Nellie's Cafe, Las Cruces

After downing a couple cups of coffee, we started our day nice and early (8 am). I packed us some healthy snacks, including peanut butter and honey sandwiches, which don't need any refrigeration. For those of you wondering about the can of soup, it is an ideal hotel room food. Just serve it in the coffee cups. Our first stop. We lasted about an hour on the road. Damn you, coffee. In about 3 1/2 hours, we arrived in Las Cruces. For lunch, we went to Nellie's Cafe, Las Cruces which I'd read about on TripAdvisor. It looked like a decent place, but getting a table was confusing. First, we waited at the front door, hoping a server would seat us. After a few minutes, a waitress told us we need to put our name on the list around the corner.  We searched for a while and finally found the list posted in the doorway of the dishwashing area. After adding our name, we went outside to wait. There were plenty of empty tables inside. Ten minutes later, a man propped the door ope

Snow, Gosh Darn It!

Sexy Nerd and I were all set last weekend to go away on a little vacation. We both had Friday off and had decided to drive down to Las Cruces, El Paso, Carlsbad, and Roswell. The weather had been AWESOME (as proven by our BBQ photos). Fun activities included the El Paso Zoo, the Las Cruces Farmer's Market, Carlsbad Caverns, and shopping (lots and lots of shopping! Glorious shopping!!) We had even researched where we would eat (the online world seems to love Nellie's Cafe and Andele Restaurant in Las Cruces). Our reservations at La Quinta and The Drury Inn were made and our itinerary was printed. We got up nice and early (5am!) on Friday to discover that IT WAS SNOWING! Stupid New Mexico.

Pre-Wedding Hawaii Ramblings

We had a looooong flight. Getting from Albuquerque to Oakland was fine, (other than having to get up at 3am!) Getting from Oakland to Honolulu was a different story. First, SN realized that I had been assigned a seat and he had not, next our flight was delayed 2 hours, and when we finally boarded the plane, we had to wait on the runway another 1/2 hour because of bad weather. Oh yeah, and the $5 ice cream I bought at the airport was terrible. WE ARE HAPPY THOUGH!  :)  :)   :)  Everyone is getting along and we have been having a wonderful time. We saw a monk seal on the beach and ate lunch at a really tasty bakery today. We barbequed last night and went swimming tonight. There is some big news - no more Captain Howie! That's right, after an entire year of planning, we decided to scrap the entire Captain Howie/Kualoa Ranch wedding at the last moment and planned an entirely different wedding in just a few hours. I'll post more about that another time though. We're getting up e

Still in Seychelles. Someone is Driving Me Crazy

This is actually a few posts merged together into one. Ah, the joy of limited internet access. My mum is driving me nuts! She was flipping out when I was posting on MySpace last night. She said I was going to be sooo embarrassed when people read what I wrote and she kept yelling at me not to post anything. I asked her if she knows what MySpace is and she said no. I asked her if she has read what I am posting and she said no. I think that's all I need to say, right? Yesterday, my great grandmother showed me a skirt that she'd made for me. She wanted me to try it on and was trying to get me to take off my pants in front of everyone. I'm glad that I was able to escape with the skirt into the bathroom. It was so small I could barely get it past my knees, so it would have been extra embarrassing to try to put in on with everyone watching. My mum says I should have just done it because my great grandmother is so old that she has seen everything before and changing in

Seychelles, 2006

Yay, I finally have internet access! Well, actually, I am writing this without internet access, but I am optimistic that I will be able to find an internet café tomorrow, (Saturday) where I can send this. We are staying with my great grandmother, "Grandmere", who is 94 years old. She is nice but it's hard to talk to her because she has trouble hearing. (Hmm, I guess that's what its like talking to me sometimes.) Even though she is old, she still dyes her hair brown all the time so people won't know she has gray hair. My mum and I took Grandmere to the casino earlier. I was trying to help her walk inside, but she is kinda wacky so she was dragging me into things. She kept trying to walk through doorways with me right next to her and I kept getting squished! LOL, a guy at the casino was laughing at me as he watched us try to get through the front door. She is such a stereotypical little old lady, feeding her social security money into the slot machines!

Headed to Seychelles

Tomorrow, I'm leaving the country for three weeks to go to a family reunion in the Seychelles Islands, which is off the coast of Africa, and Paris. I'm not sure how often I'll have access to the internet, if ever, so I thought I'd better say goodbye to everyone. Goodbye! Have a safe and happy three weeks! :) P.S. Think warm and fuzzy thoughts for me. My family My CRAZY MOM is going to drive me nuts! Somehow, my dad got out of this trip and he is a lucky, lucky guy. Sexy Nerd, who has been pestering me about when we're going to finally get married, would not even come on this trip, even if it meant getting married next week! He knows it's going to be a miserable time. P.P.S. How bad could three weeks with my mom be, you ask? For starters, she is already upset because I'm planning to bring my laptop with me. I purchased this laptop, my first ever, specifically for this trip. She is annoyed because I am only bringing 4 swimsuits. I thought 4 s
