 The weather in Albuquerque has been nice and warm lately. It's just right for grilling. What is Sexy Nerd making for dinner? Oooh! Yes, he needs to cook more often. Every other night just isn't cutting it anymore. Biscuit has been enjoying the weather too, but she's taking a break to beg for scraps. Darn, if only dogs liked chicken kabobs. Oh well, more for us! Being that he is a Sexy Nerd, he made some peanut butter cookies for dessert. Hold on, Kitchen Pig!

After anxiously waiting for construction to end for more than a year and a half, we moved into our mountain dream home and lived happily ever after. Ha ha ha ha ha. Six months in, this place is still construction central! Biscuit is walking away in frustration. SN built the kitchen island. It only needs to be stained and it will be finished. But before he can stain it (for some reason), he must first install a brick backsplash. He must also do these things before he can complete the complicated matter of installing any toilet paper holders. No, not even one. That's right. You think we're here living the dream in our fancy mansion, but little did you know we are storing our toilet paper rolls on the back of each toilet like animals . In SN's defense, he has also been busy diligently replanting trees, installing light fixtures, and creating an ingenious tennis ball system in the garage. Oh, and remember our Amerisleep   Superbed , in all its excessive glory?

Coffee in hand, I'm ready to start another long day of driving. Or at least another long day of napping in the passenger seat. But first, Sexy Nerd has a clever travel tip. Not enough counter space in your hotel room? Use the ironing board! We stopped at my aunt and uncle's house for breakfast. They have the cutest dog ever! Seriously, this dog was even cuter than Biscuit! Here is Sexy Nerd, charming my grandma. How many little old ladies are computer-savvy? Go Grandma! ;) Sexy Nerd's coffee hasn't quite kicked in yet. We've finally broken ground on our dream home ! Can you believe it? (You can follow our construction progress here , along with lots of construction drama - the neighbors building their fence on our property, discovering we'd placed our house on a bunch of expensive rocks, our concrete footings being destroyed by a freak hail storm, etc.) Even more surprising than finally building the house we've dreamed of for years, we actually managed to work a good chunk of our ridiculous wish list into the actual design. *Update* Construction is finished! It took longer than expected and cost more too (that's how construction works, right?), but we are finally living in our mountain dream home and it's even better than I'd hoped!
