Amerisleep AS3 Reviews

My Amerisleep AS3 Unboxing Video (Surprise, my voice is ridiculous!) If I can (just barely) do it, you can totally tackle a bed-in-a-box by yourself. Updated 10/15/22 Amerisleep's AS5 was recently featured as the 'Best Soft Mattress in a Box' by Good Housekeeping , with the panel of reviewers noting: Pressure relief for side sleepers Taller than other boxed mattresses Good customer service    Amerisleep Mattress Reviews  We've been happy Amerisleep customers since purchasing our first AS3 mattress more than 9 years ago. Now we also have an AS2 and an AS4 (the AS3 is still our favorite). Born with chronic insomnia  (even as a baby - my family insists I was a nightmare), the struggle to improve my sleep is my life. My husband, the overly-analytical mechanical engineer, was initially skeptical of a mail-order mattress, but he was quickly won over. 2012: Wine glass test, sans wine. I was fairly confident our brand-new mattress would pass with f

Will I Ever Post Again?

Sexy Nerd has a new phone that takes excellent photos, so we've been using it exclusively instead of lugging a camera around. We have photos from the Colorado Springs Parade of Homes, our recent trip to Hawaii, and many other blog-worthy events. In fact, we attended the opening weekend of the home parade, making it essential to post on my blog ASAP so it could serve as a resource for people thinking of going. Sexy Nerd agreed. And yet... Sexy Nerd said he would send me the photos more than a month ago. The Colorado Springs Parade of Homes is long over. Sexy Nerd is still saying he's going to send me the photos. ..... Where are the photos, Sexy Nerd?!? An old photo (obviously) of Sexy Nerd. Spend less time giving pep talks to half-dead trees and more time sending me photos!

No Sleep. No Sleep. No Sleep.

The last several weekends, Sexy Nerd and I have been getting ideas for our new house at the Colorado Springs Parade of Homes and the Denver Parade of Homes. This meant several nights in hotels, away from our beloved Amerisleep Liberty Bed . We almost always stay at Marriott hotels, which you would expect to be pretty nice, right? WRONG! I mean, they were fine, except for their terrible mattresses. In Colorado Springs, Sexy Nerd actually texted an entire complaint to Marriott at 3 am because our mattress, affectionately referred to as "The Taco", was so uncomfortable. When he came back to bed, he tried to get all snuggly with me, which is 100% THE WORST THING EVER to do to someone with idiopathic insomnia . I had finally just barely fallen asleep and he woke me up. His reason? According to Sexy Nerd, when he laid down on his side of the bed, I rolled over to snuggle with him , so he assumed I was still awake. It was the taco mattress! It flipped me! This Marriott mat

More Than Beer at the (AMAZING!) NM Brew Fest

Update for 2020: We've been hoping all year that COVID wouldn't cancel the New Mexico Brew Fest, but of course it did. For now, pop open a Coors and live vicariously through last year's post. I'll see you at the 2021 New Mexico Brew Fest! Update for 2021: Postponed again. Bummer. Another update: Was that the Culligan water man or not? Update for 2022: The NM Brew Fest is finally back! Join in the fun on Saturday, October 1st. This year, it coincides with our world-famous Balloon Fiesta.   More Than Beer at the (AMAZING!) NM Brew Fest My husband and I have seen ads for the New Mexico Brew Fest, which coincides with Albuquerque's world-famous Balloon Fiesta, year after year. Why haven't we ever gone? Obviously, we are ridiculous fools because the New Mexico Brew Fest was the best time ever ! It's our all-time favorite beer festival. (Don't tell the Fall Ale Fest . It was only their first year. They'll get there.) You know you're in for a gr

Drinking Our Way Around the Corrales Wine Loop

Yesterday, Sexy Nerd and I had the pleasure of attending the annual Corrales Wine Loop event, which pairs 9* local wines with 9 cheese tastings. If you're near Albuquerque or Santa Fe, this event is worth the drive to Corrales.  The three participating wineries are Acequia, Corrales, and Pasando Tiempo. It's only $25 per person. You can also attend the Corrales Bike and Wine Tour next month, which features the same wines paired with strenuous exercise instead of cheese. (Ha, ha.) *Make that 10 local wines - Acequia winery was extra generous! Also, if you're reading this and are from one of the wineries, your previous event had wines paired with desserts. You replaced chocolate with cheese?! This sweet-toothed gal requests a combination of cheese pairings and sugary treats for Corrales Wine Loop, 2020.  Wine + Cheese + Chocolate = Heaven   Our first stop was the Corrales Winery , which features a lovely patio overlooking a lush, green field. Soaking up the New

Antler Decor Ideas

Antler Decor Ideas I love nature and have been incorporating deer decor into our new mountain home. We've learned firsthand at our annual excursion to the Summit County Parade of Homes (lavish 20-million dollar mansions in Colorado that are only used for a ski weekend once or twice a year) and other luxury home events how these rustic accents can be just the right touch to make everything so cozy. Modern takes on traditional deer and antler decor keep your look from going full-on log cabin. With naturally shed antlers, pencil sketches, deer crafted of elegant silver, and more, there are many cruelty-free ways to incorporate your love of deer and nature into your contemporary home decor. Confession: I think  antler home decor  is a creepy idea, at least when you're taking about hanging the head of a dead animal on your wall as a form of interior design. There, I said it. Maybe you shot it humanely and it fed your family and the deer were overpopulated in the area anyway
