Sexy Nerd and I have agreed to dedicate tomorrow to our annual spring cleaning. It's the only day each year when we do things like clean the bathrooms (no, that's not a typo), so it may be a looooong day. Or not. Whatever doesn't get cleaned this time around, we can always do next spring. Wish us luck!

Time for a Blog Hop

Blog Hop! Blog Hop! Blog Hop!

Welcome back, my bloggy friends, to another Not "Baaad" Sundays Linky Party! In case you've forgotten, (can't blame you - it's been a looooong week!) there are a few things that make this blog hop special: 1. This Linky is open to all posts that you are proud of. Did you recently post about a great decorating project, craft, or recipe? That's wonderful if you did, but just fine if you didn't. Just link a post or posts you are proud of. 2. Have you ever found yourself trying not to duplicate posts on blog hops but aren't quite sure what you posted the previous weeks? Problem solved! The Linky from today will return in the future, making it easy to see what you posted last time (and giving you a 2nd chance to visit any great posts you may have missed!) Everyone loves to see comments on their blog. When you're spreading the bloggy love, please mention that you found them through LambAround. Thanks! Oh, and of course, go 49ers !

Blog Hop

Ugh, what a week. That little Pica dog looks so cute...until she wakes you up for no reason at 2 am! I'm going to spend this weekend catching up on my sleep. P.S. Something else keeping you up at night? My  Amerisleep mattress reviews  have everything you've ever wondered about switching to a mail-order memory foam mattress. There, that's something else you can do this weekend.

Sexy Nerd and I have quite the ambitious weekend planned, with everything from exercise to museum visits crammed in. The Albuquerque Zoo is even offering half price admission today and tomorrow (though just the thought of going to the zoo in January makes me cold). I'm pretty sure we'll end up staying home all weekend. Aside from partying with the Not "Baaad" Sundays blog hop, which will understandably eat up a chunk of your day with all the awesome blogs to visit, what are your weekend plans?

Brrrr! Today is the perfect weather for some homemade apple cider . Who am I kidding? We chug that stuff during the middle of summer! Have a merry weekend, everyone.

Kitty's Lie-I-Mean-Quote of the Day

I had a fantastic check-up appointment the other day. Yes, my blood pressure and all that other stuff are fine, but what was really great was my fitness level. The nurse and the doctor were both impressed! They each asked me whether or not I exercise regularly and I was able to proudly report that I walk on my treadmill twice a day, every single day, without exception. Actual photo. Wow, look at me go! I may have left out the part about how I've only owned the treadmill for about a week. Irrelevant detail, you know.

Merry Xmas Weekend!

The Not "Baaad" Sundays blog hop will be back next weekend. For now, kick back and relax during the looong weekend (for me, at least. There are no patients at our office until January 8th!) Expecting a bit more from this post? The gingerbread marshmallows I made for Christmas taste AMAZING dropped into a hot cup of coffee. Have you made them yet?

Wedding Jitters

Alrighty, I'm finally trying to plan out this darn wedding thingy, (Derek and I have been engaged for HOW LONG? Holy cow!) There's one little problem though - the idea of getting married completely freaks me out!!! I don't know anything about planning weddings or receptions. I'm too shy and too anti-sappy stuff to get married! So, what should we do? We like the idea of having an itty bitty, barely even counts ceremony and a huge reception with everyone we know afterward, (who will probably resent us for inviting them to the reception but not the ceremony, but whatever!) Does this idea sound completely screwed up? HELP! I'm going nuts, (and I don't think I was exactly the most sane person around to begin with!)

Love Thy Neighbor

A certain woman in my neighborhood, (who will probably read this so I won't be too specific...) IS COMPLETELY INSANE! She was complaining that there are elm tree suckers in my yard, (which I guess are baby trees...?) She was afraid that the saplings were going to spread and that we would have a neighborhood elm tree infestation to deal with, so she came over to pull them out. I couldn't help wondering what she was actually going to do, since there were no suckers in my yard. What did she do? She cut down my rosebushes and stuffed them into my dumpster right after trash day, (umm...I was kinda planning on using my dumpster throughout the week, but whatever!) *Update on 1/11/11: We moved years ago, so let's go ahead and just call this looney neighbor Paula! This was not the only time that my odd neighbor used my dumpster. Sexy Nerd took our trash to the curb a few weeks ago and ran into our new neighbors from across the street, who were also bringing their dumpster to the

Iceland Vacation Cancelled

After a long, crappy week (instead of booking a 10 year anniversary trip to Iceland, we decided to be paranoid and hoard all our money, thank you very much to Congress deciding Sexy Nerd doesn't need a paycheck), let's throw off our worries and party it up with another Not "Baaad" Sundays blog hop! Remember, this is not just another run-of-the-mill linky. There are things that make this blog party special: 1. This linky is open to all posts that you are proud of. Did you recently post about a great decorating project, craft, or recipe? That's wonderful if you did, but just fine if you didn't. I just want you to link to a post or posts you are proud of. 2. Do you ever find yourself trying not to duplicate posts on blog hops but aren't quite sure what you posted the previous weeks? Problem solved! The list of links from today will return in the future, making it easy to see what you posted last time (and giving you a second chance to visit any great

BLOG HOP! Link Up and Join the Fun

It's the weekend, weekend, weekend! So I'm so happy, happy, happy!! We're debating about whether or not to pack our things and move to a house up the street. It needs a lot of work. How much work, you ask? Well, the going rate for a fixer upper in the neighborhood we like is about $350,000. We think we can get this one for $200,000. That means it needs a lot of work! We love the neighborhood...but we also love our lazy weekends in our current, no-renovations-needed home. Hmmm...decisions, decisions. Have a terrific weekend, everyone!

Still in Seychelles. Someone is Driving Me Crazy

This is actually a few posts merged together into one. Ah, the joy of limited internet access. My mum is driving me nuts! She was flipping out when I was posting on MySpace last night. She said I was going to be sooo embarrassed when people read what I wrote and she kept yelling at me not to post anything. I asked her if she knows what MySpace is and she said no. I asked her if she has read what I am posting and she said no. I think that's all I need to say, right? Yesterday, my great grandmother showed me a skirt that she'd made for me. She wanted me to try it on and was trying to get me to take off my pants in front of everyone. I'm glad that I was able to escape with the skirt into the bathroom. It was so small I could barely get it past my knees, so it would have been extra embarrassing to try to put in on with everyone watching. My mum says I should have just done it because my great grandmother is so old that she has seen everything before and changing in

Seychelles, 2006

Yay, I finally have internet access! Well, actually, I am writing this without internet access, but I am optimistic that I will be able to find an internet café tomorrow, (Saturday) where I can send this. We are staying with my great grandmother, "Grandmere", who is 94 years old. She is nice but it's hard to talk to her because she has trouble hearing. (Hmm, I guess that's what its like talking to me sometimes.) Even though she is old, she still dyes her hair brown all the time so people won't know she has gray hair. My mum and I took Grandmere to the casino earlier. I was trying to help her walk inside, but she is kinda wacky so she was dragging me into things. She kept trying to walk through doorways with me right next to her and I kept getting squished! LOL, a guy at the casino was laughing at me as he watched us try to get through the front door. She is such a stereotypical little old lady, feeding her social security money into the slot machines!

Blog Hop! Link Up with LambAround

It's time to throw your blogging hat into the ring and share a post or two of your own. Who else has a long weekend? I don't have to go into work again until Wednesday! And, after that, I'm off again until Monday. I see a lot of laziness in my near future. Ahhh, so happy. And now...

Headed to Seychelles

Tomorrow, I'm leaving the country for three weeks to go to a family reunion in the Seychelles Islands, which is off the coast of Africa, and Paris. I'm not sure how often I'll have access to the internet, if ever, so I thought I'd better say goodbye to everyone. Goodbye! Have a safe and happy three weeks! :) P.S. Think warm and fuzzy thoughts for me. My family My CRAZY MOM is going to drive me nuts! Somehow, my dad got out of this trip and he is a lucky, lucky guy. Sexy Nerd, who has been pestering me about when we're going to finally get married, would not even come on this trip, even if it meant getting married next week! He knows it's going to be a miserable time. P.P.S. How bad could three weeks with my mom be, you ask? For starters, she is already upset because I'm planning to bring my laptop with me. I purchased this laptop, my first ever, specifically for this trip. She is annoyed because I am only bringing 4 swimsuits. I thought 4 s

Blog Hop/McLinky Party

Here in Albuquerque, our great winter weather (in the 70s!) has returned. It's going to be a fun weekend! I'm thinking that a trip to Santa Fe might be in the cards.
