Seattle Photos...Eventually!

I uploaded my photos to this blog post when we returned from our Alaskan cruise, then saved it as a draft, planning to come back later that week to add captions.

That was almost a year ago.

Puppy Trouble

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments about my poor Britney. She was the best German Shepherd ever.
Looking back on my memories of her, she wasn't the most ideal puppy for me though. At the time, we probably both would have been better off without the other. Right before I graduated from high school, my 26 year old boyfriend and I rented a cheap, dilapidated duplex together in a terrible part of town. Here in Albuquerque, it's affectionately known as "the war zone". It was really bad - no heat, which is illegal, cockroaches spilling out of the sidewalk whenever we'd walk through the neighborhood, and a landlord who would show up late at night, drunk, when I was home alone and threaten to beat up my boyfriend for not paying the rent (which made me defensive at the time because I'd given him the rent money, but looking back, I'm sure my loser boyfriend had squandered my cash on something else and lied about it.) The house two doors down made it onto…

Who's Ready to Blog Hop? :)

Guess what? We're going to London! Guess what else? We might be moving for a year...so Sexy Nerd can go to Harvard!
He is such a nerd. I love that crazy guy. Things are going pretty well over here.  Have a great weekend, my bloggy friends!

Cheesy Chicken Ramen Recipe

If you love boxed macaroni and cheese, but agree that it takes too much effort to make (yes, I am unbelievably lazy) and that it costs too much money, (cheap frugal too!) this is the Ramen noodle recipe of your dreams.
All you need are 4 ingredients...and really, you could make do with only 3 by substituting a second packet of noodles for the baggie of pasta.

Cheese Chicken Ramen Noodles
Serves 4
1 packet of Chicken or Creamy Chicken Ramen noodles1 bag of Moderna Vermicelli, 7.05oz (or, if you don't have this, just a second package of noodles - this Ramen tweak makes an already budget-friendly meal even cheaper though!)3/4 C milk (I've made this with almond, soy, skim, 1%, and 2% - just use whatever's on hand)1 C shredded cheese (again, whatever kind you have is fine) 1. In a 1.5 qt or larger glass bowl, add the Ramen and vermicelli with enough water to cover. Microwave on high for 6 minutes, stopping to stir halfway through.

2. When the noodles and vermicelli are tender, d…

Guest Bedroom Tour

Remember my post about getting our guest bedroom ready?

You don't? Oh, I suppose it has been a little while. It feels like 2012 was just the other day though!

Here is that same guest bedroom, all tidied up and ready for company.

The chalkboard door beckons you to enter.

Complete with M&Ms waiting on each pillow. Don't you want to visit me?

We replaced the boring, wood closet doors with these pretty curtains.

Want to hear a secret? I took all these photos back when our guests were staying with us in 2012, and the room has changed since then.
I'll post the new pictures in 2016.

Sexy Nerd and I have agreed to dedicate tomorrow to our annual spring cleaning. It's the only day each year when we do things like clean the bathrooms (no, that's not a typo), so it may be a looooong day.

Or not. Whatever doesn't get cleaned this time around, we can always do next spring.

Wish us luck!

Pica is NEVER Allowed on the Couch Again

The larger wet spot is drool from where Pica's head was laying.

And the smaller wet spot? It's from her other end. She's been chowing down on inedible berries in our backyard, resulting in some...leakage.

Ew, Pica. Eeeewwwwwww! Looking guilty. (Rightfully so!)
