Dessert Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake. No Eggs!

Surprise your guests with a dessert that’s rich, indulgent, and totally egg-free! Who needs expensive eggs when you’ve got ground flaxseed, eggless cookie dough, and chocolate cake? Sometimes blogging can get to be a bit much. Really, is anyone out there even reading this? When a mood like this strikes, there's simply only one thing you can do. Bake a ridiculously indulgent cake. Would you care for a slice (or two!) of my Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake? The frosting is chocolate chip cookie dough. It. Is. AMAZING. Why isn't this stuff used more often? Oh, and if you answered 'no' to my cake offer, I really don't think this is the right blog for you. As mentioned before (homemade Chicken Mayonnaise , anyone?), Sexy Nerd and I aren't squeamish about eating raw eggs. Well, I guess Sexy Nerd might be, but I do the majority of the cooking around here so, yeah.  For those of you who are wisely Salmonella-phobes, I have something exciti...

The Secret to Making Friends As An Adult (Spoiler: The answer, of course, is WINE)

Making Friends As An Adult  Popular, you're gonna be popular. I'll teach you the proper poise when you talk to boys. Little ways to flirt and flounce, ooh! I'll show you what shoes to wear, how to fix your hair. Everything that really counts... I was very popular today. Popular, I'll help you be popular. You'll hang with the right cohorts, you'll be good at sports. Know the slang you've got to know... I stopped at the grocery store and instantly regretted it once I saw the crowd, realizing too late it was too close to the holiday weekend for a quick stop. I grabbed one of those little carts with an upper and lower basket and squeezed my way in, planning to grab just a few things and get the heck out of there. I hate crowds. I suppose everyone hates crowds, at least at the grocery store. Popular, I know about popular. And with an assist from me to be who you'll be... While walking toward the watermelon, I noticed two shopping carts full of wine with...

Funny Hot Tub Comic

I think we might be overdue for another installment of my comic strip , LambAround. The last one was published more than eight years ago! So much for turning it into a weekly series. This site isn't even called LambAround anymore. Perhaps this is the KittyAround comic?  Let's call this one hot tub cartoon . An alternate name could be The One Where You See Kitty Deschanel and Sexy Nerd Naked. It's not like it's a new thing for my blog, after those risqué photos I emailed to SN all those years ago. In my defense, creating comics takes  forever  when you have no artistic talent. Hot Tub Cartoon It's time for another installment of no one's favorite comic, this time with a hot tub cartoon. Can my fellow hot tub owners relate? That made you smile. Admit it. Here's a version of my hot tub cartoon that's perfect for sharing online. (Hint, hint.) Homestyle Salad with Knorr Homestyle Stock Recipe

Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. -Michael Pollan This salad recipe might make the second part of the above quote a bit tricky! Out of all the recipes I've made with Knorr Homestyle Stock, my favorite use for it is as a salad dressing. Specifically,  my  Homestyle Mayonnaise .  It's the perfect complement to an assortment of veggies, leaving even my carnivorous Sexy Nerd happy to have a salad for dinner. Best of all, it is 100% unique and unlike any dressing you've ever made or picked up at the store. It looks so healthy, right? That's because it is. This is boring potato salad's New York cousin. Potatoes...and sweet potatoes! Together forever. How hodgepodged is this salad? We're throwing in the celery leaves. We're peeling our cucumber with pretty stripes because we're fancy like that. And egg! And broccoli! Homestyle Salad with Homestyle Mayonnaise (Recipe Yield: 6 servings)(Total Time: 30 minutes, including prep) ...

Spring Decorating Ideas

We've (and by that I mean Sexy Nerd solely on his own) been transforming our home little by little. I never post photos though! It's weird because I was really looking forward to being able to share our decorating progress, back while we were designing the house for all those years. So let's do this! Here are the photos I shared a few years ago. I'll take some updated shots toda...tomorr...by next week for sure! I'll at least post by the time we have our this-never-happens April snowstorm that happens every single year, shocking everyone for no reason at all. Here are a few photos with spring decorating ideas , straight to you from our dream home in the New Mexico mountains : Decorating projects currently in process? Tiling the walls (and groin ceiling!) of our dining room with mother of pearl in a herringbone pattern. We're also working on a backsplash for our outdoor kitchen - the most gorgeous blue tiles just arrived from Spain!  I hope none are brok...
