Cupcakes, Anne, and Other Fun Ramblings

1. Remember when I posted about listening to Anne of Green Gables while I drive? None of you warned me that Matthew Cuthbert was going to die. I appreciate you keeping that little spoiler to yourselves (which, I realize, I just blurted out) but he died when I was driving to work. My mascara was a mess!

2. I have a post scheduled for next week that will make you laugh your butt off. Sorry for the unpleasant image, but it will.

3. Tomorrow morning I'm posting a giveaway! Yep, a lot of fun things are coming up on LambAround. A recipe for cookie dough cupcakes (soooo insanely yummy!) and my BlogHer book club review for A Jane Austen Education are all right on the horizon.

4. Sexy Nerd has been away on a business trip all week (in LAS VEGAS, the lucky duck!) and should be home any minute now. Thank you for humoring me while I pass the time, my wonderful blog readers! Oh, I love you all so much! I know it's cheesy, but it's true.

5. The voting for the Best in Show award this week is close! Will it be Inspiration & Realisation? I Heart Toys? Teddy Bear Princess? Someone else?? This is exciting!

6. My next book on CD was Lolita. As creepy as it was, I loved it. Now I'm listening to The Lovely Bones. If anyone has a suggestion for my next book on CD, I'm all ears.*

7. My Kenmore Genius Tip, Cheap Molding and Magazine Pages, has fallen back to 5th place. Ack! Have you voted today and pestered all your friends to do the same? (Thank you, thank you!)

I hate to post without a photo, so here's another quick, random tidbit. Keebler has ripped off the Girl Scouts! These are scrumptious and so much cheaper, but still, it seems very wrong.

Hello Fresh Complaints

Hello, my bloggy friends. I have a HelloFresh complaint and believe they are pulling a scam. Yours truly came *this close* to falling for it. Maybe scam is too harsh of a word. Sneaky? You can decide for yourself. The fact that there are so many Hello Fresh complaints online does seem suspicious. Update: Google is totally filling my site with Hello Fresh ads now, ugh. Also, since posting this Hello Fresh complaints article yesterday, I've already received this message from a reader: "I did order from Hello Fresh previously and was not charged what I was originally told (or thought I was told). Also, the food from them was anything but fresh and they refused to do a refund, only doing credit - even for the overcharges! So basically I ended up being out of money thanks to them." My main complaint about Hello Fresh has to do with their promotional rate, which seems like it is set up to be intentionally misleading (more on this below). Despite so many people complainin

My Instant Pot Explosion!

Like many new Instant Pot owners, I've wondered, How many Instant Pots have exploded? (Eeek!) I'm happy to report that my research on Snopes and other sites has shown that these do not explode, at least not when used properly. There is a lawsuit between a woman in Texas and the Instant Pot manufacturer, but she admits she had thrown a towel over the steam vent. Do NOT do this. Still concerned? Consider that on Prime Day of 2018, Amazon sold more than 300,000 Instant Pots. That's more than a quarter of a million sales in only 1 day! If these things were not safe, you would see news stories every day about someone being injured. Still, things can go wrong. We love our Instant Pot, the digital pressure cooker that seems to suddenly be in every home. You can't mess up - just throw in random ingredients and you'll get something yummy every time.
