I Spent Over 6 Hours Working On This Post!

I'm so excited to see you! Today is my SITS Day and I was hoping you would be able to stop by. You do know what it means to have my SITS Day, don't you?
Paaaaar-tay Time!

Welcome to my LambAround party! Let me start out by introducing myself. I’m Lamb, a newlywed who has been known to place shirts into the washing machine one color and have them come out another. My hubby, Sexy Nerd, never, ever asks me to do his laundry. My blog provides an often humorous peek into my life, with focus on my cooking and decorating attempts. If you'd like to know more, please click here. If you enjoy stories about weddings gone wrong, I promise you won't be disappointed. Our male wedding officiant, Captain Howie, showed up late, wearing a skirt, and tried to make me climb a tree branch over a fishpond while in my wedding gown!

Oh, and there was a bit more to the stuffed animal in the washing machine story than the SITS site told you. Yes, I was worried about my lamb being washed. Guess what? It came out missing an ear! This is one of those "told 'ya so" stories to hold over my mom for life.

But enough about me. Can I offer you some munchies?

Cornbread muffin, anyone? They're filled with hot dogs and spinach and they taste much better than they sound (promise!)

I was just showing the other SITS ladies some photos from our last cruise. We've cruised Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. We've seen some beautiful places, but of all my cruise photos, this one is my favorite. We returned to our room to find a cute towel-animal dog. Unfortunately, the room steward had forgotten to refill our fruit bowl. We wanted to get his attention in a way that would ensure he did not forget again.

On vacation, you need to make an extra effort to eat healthy!
Speaking of fruit, here's Kitchen Pig to offer you a drink.

He's not just any party animal. He's a party pig.

You'd love a tour of my home? Well certainly, my dear! Here are some Before and Afters. Sexy Nerd and I are remodelholics.

Well, technically I just supervise, but when you think about it, isn't that the most important part?

Guest Bathroom (complete with a magical mirror washing machine)

What fun is a Master Bedroom without a fireplace?

What say we just pretend that pesky little cord isn't there.

Built-In Bookcase, sans the books

Kitchen with 2 islands

Here's that second island. Sexy Nerd says that now we have an archipelago.

Our Living Room. Much cozier now!

More of the Living Room. Sexy Nerd added the closet and the accent wall.

Our pride and joy (and finally almost finished!) - our Master Bathroom

Master Bathroom Shower. No glass-scraping for us anymore!

We'd better skip the backyard. There's an unexplained fungus on the loose.

Our poor cherry tree never saw this coming!

It's so important to me to show you SITS gals a fun time today. I know, we'll have a contest!

How does a CSN Gift Certificate sound? You could use it to buy a flowering tea set (and, you know, invite your good pal Lamb over for tea).

Heck, you SITS bloggers are so fun. We may as well have two contests!

Fingers crossed that you win this assortment of spices!

Now, gather 'round everyone. The best part of any good party is the gossip. Did I ever tell you about the funny time that Sexy Nerd was was feeling a little bit "lovey"? He had candles lit and wine and suggested that I put on a sexy outfit. I changed into something skimpy, somewhat covered by an equally skimpy, see-through robe. Being Mr. Smooth Talker, he came up to me and said in his sexiest voice, "Oooh, you're wearing layers. I'll have to take them off. You're like an onion."

Oh yes, the stinkiest of all the foods. I'm a lucky girl!

Before I forget, I stayed up all night (literally) making a present for you. I hope you'll be able to use it.

Isn't it beautiful? I put even more effort into making the present than wrapping it. Click Here to see what I made for you!

I wonder whether I'll receive a hostess gift from any of the SITS girls today. I have these flowers, but Sexy Nerd wasn't very happy about me keeping them. I received them under very mysterious circumstances!

I never did find out who sent them. Sexy Nerd insisted there'd been a mix-up and that the florist must have redelivered an order he'd sent me back when we lived in our rental house. One problem though. The last time Sexy Nerd sent me flowers was looooong before our rental house days! OOPS.

At least I saved whoever it was some money by having the bear refunded.

Well, I've had a great time chatting with you today. I have to go, but before I do, let me introduce you to some of my other guests. I'm sure you're dying to mingle!

Extra Special Wednesday Edition for the SITS Bloggers!

This Linky is open to all posts that you are proud of. Did you recently post about a great decorating project, craft, or recipe? That's wonderful if you did, but just fine if you didn't. I want everyone to have a chance to mingle! I do ask that you link directly to your post and include a photo from that post, not just your blog logo, please. And, like always, the links you enter today will be back on Sunday (and the Sunday after that) so you can get any visitors who missed you the first time.

To up the fun factor, I will be selecting some of these links to feature this Sunday! You aren't required to post my button on your sidebar or with your linked post, but you'll need to have it somewhere if you want to be featured.

Oh, and of course, remember to comment on the Spices Giveaway after linking up here - this counts as a bonus entry!

*Linking to Between Naps on the Front Porch, which I love!

Digital Scrapbook Page of the Week

Here I am at my "2nd wedding", which was also to Sexy Nerd (the first was in Hawaii so there were a lot of people who couldn't attend AKA one just wasn't enough for my mom). Sometimes, my best friends, Sarah (L) and Jessica (R) can be a little...odd. I've known both of them since elementary school and our friendship even survived my 8th grade move from San Jose to Albuquerque.

How NOT to Make a Nascar Birthday Cake

(Or any cake, for that matter.)

My cooking motto is "Patience Has No Place In My Kitchen". Allow to me demonstrate exactly what I mean.

Impressed by that race car cake? Me too! But the talented blogger at The Speckled Freckle made it, not me. I knew I didn't have the attention span to make quite as elaborate a cake, but I figured that I could surely pull off a single loop cake for my Nascar fan's birthday. Surely!

First, I got the cars nice and squeaky clean in my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Nothing says "Happy Birthday" like sneaking into your husband's office and stealing toy cars from his display case.

My plan was to make the track out of brown frosting (crushed Thin Mints and cocoa powder), use mini marshmallows to line the track, and spread green frosting everywhere else.

I had been cooking all day (you did catch my Meal Plan post, right?) and quickly lost interest in my original plan.

Yeah, I kind of have a thing for marshmallows (as demonstrated here, here, and here)

Note the cookie chunks. Lousy food processor.

It's hard to frost a cake!

Oh! There is another marshmallowy link here! This one involves Thin Mints. All my marshmallow links are, by the way, delicious.

Clear sugar sprinkles are a little dull though, aren't they?

Sexy Nerd is very patriotic.

In case you are wondering, I was not just throwing things on for the sake of a blog post. Anyone who knows me will surely agree that this is how I make all cakes.

Sexy Nerd loves butterscotch chips.

And coconut!

Does this remind you of Nascar? Or that original cake?

You just have to use your imagination!

At least I knew better than to put Sexy Nerd's toy cars on this mess!

That frosting was so full of butter and cream cheese (and all sorts of other things that I randomly threw in) that I figured refrigeration was a must.

Not exactly the best cake when your fridge space is maxed out.
*Note that there are NO WORMS in the fridge! Woo hoo!

As you might have guessed, this cake was gooooood. With all that sugar, it kind of had to be!

Not "Baaad" Sundays #3 (and some exhausted ramblings!)

This has been an exciting week! I have oodles of new followers, courtesy of my fabulous SPICES giveaway (not to mention scrumptious Ramen Noodle recipe). I have been insanely busy. According to my boss, I now work for her full time as an administrative assistant and part time as her website designer and SEO. This is great except that...how exactly should I put this...I have no idea how to be a website designer or SEO! *Sigh!* Without the handy Blogger tools or the Tripod Homepage Housekeeper, web design is kinda baffling. If anyone has any Filezilla/Notepad HTML tips, I'd love to hear them!

Okay, on to the fun! There are 2 things that makes my Linky special:

1. This Linky is open to all posts that you are proud of. Did you recently post about a great decorating project, craft, or recipe? That's wonderful if you did, but just fine if you didn't. I just want you to link to a post or posts you are proud of.

2. Do you ever find yourself trying not to duplicate posts on blog hops but aren't quite sure what you posted the previous weeks? Problem solved! The Linky from today will return next week, making it easy to see what you posted last time (and giving you a 2nd chance to visit any great posts you may have missed!)

I do ask that you link directly to your post and include a photo from that post, not just your blog logo. And if you could post my Not "Baaad" Sundays button or at least a link with your post, I'll love you forever! I know I can count on you to get the word out and help make Not "Baaad" Sundays a success! Thanks everyone!

Oh, and of course, remember to comment on the Spices Giveaway after linking up here - this counts as a bonus entry!

Link up, then get out there and mingle! Don't forget to tell people that you found them through LambAround (pretty please!) See you next Sunday :)

Divorce Smorce. I Guess We'll Stay Together

If you missed my previous post, titled Does This Mean We're Divorced, click here.

Sexy Nerd found a great deal on a Cobalt Chrome ring. We think it's a perfect replacement for his tungsten carbide wedding ring.

Old Ring (OH NO!)

Fabulous New Ring - oh yes, it's engraved!

Danni + Derek =  Dsquared
(Kitty Deschanel is my pen name.)

Our wedding date, which was also our 4 year anniversary.

A little reminder of the old ring

Our original wording idea was "Don't Drop Me!"

I hear you saying aaaaw! over there.

YUCK! Sexy Nerd Has a New Hobby

Sexy Nerd has decided that he loves fishing. He gets up insanely early (4am!) on his days off and drives to the lake. He has been concerned about overdoing it. He doesn't want to turn into one of those husbands who is never around because he's always "gone fishing". Honestly, I don't mind one bit. He even caught a fish (which he said was too small, so he took a quick, humane photo of it, then threw it back - my kinda fisherman!)

There is, however, one thing about his new hobby that irks me. Actually, irks may be too light of a word. It grosses me out! I understand that the worms need to stay cool, I really do, but isn't there anywhere else they can go??

Lately, I have paid extra-close attention whenever taking a container of yogurt or butter out of the fridge!

Who's Up For Some Peacock Lovin'?

Sexy Nerd and I spent Friday morning at the Albuquerque Zoo* (you know, the one notorious for dismembered giraffes and break-ins by idiots). There was a small group of women with their young children walking ahead of us when we crossed paths with a few peacocks.

Hey baby.
One woman began to explain to her children that the male peacock is the one with the beautiful feathers, which he uses to attract a mate. Normal enough. The other woman, however, jumped in very enthusiastically and said:

"If I were a peacock, I'd just find that guy irresistible! Really, he's even turning me on as a human!"

At what age do kids begin to realize how embarrassing their parents are?

Lookin' sexy, Mr. Peacock!

*I should point out that, despite the negative links, Sexy Nerd and I love the zoo. We even joined their yearly pass program. You just can't beat the people-watching!
