Best Vitamix Green Smoothie Recipe

I don't usually (or ever) post Vitamix recipes here. It's not that I don't think people would be interested in trying my homemade Vitamix recipes. My blender creations have just never been good enough to share. In fact, many of them have been borderline revolting.

After much trial and error, however, I am happy to announce that I finally have a delicious Vitamix winner! Just look at this beautiful green smoothie:

Note my dapper Frog Prince admiring its green loveliness.

(And yes, it really is a creamy "Green Smoothie", not a "Green Juice".)

LambAround's Best Vitamix Green Smoothie Recipe
(Makes 40 ounces)

Throw the following into the blender:
  • 1 Mango
  • 1 Orange (or 2 oranges, if yours are itty bitty like mine!)
  • 1 Radish
  • 1 Kale Leaf (a great, big one!)
  • 1/2 a Cucumber
  • 1 Tbsp Flax Seeds
  • 2 Tbsps Chia Seeds
  • 1/2 Can of Pineapple with Juice (10 ounces)
  • 2 Celery Stalks
  • 1 Small Parsley Sprig
  • 1 Cup Water
Before blending, let everything mellow together in the fridge for at least 15 minutes. This way, the chia seeds will have time to soak up the water and get nice and gelatin-y. I love to put everything into my Vitamix blender before bed. This makes an easy, refreshing breakfast drink.

Before blending, add a heaping cup of ice. After everything is mixed together, top off the water to the 40 ounce line and re-blend.

The warm weather has finally returned to Albuquerque. Sexy Nerd says this is the perfect green drink to enjoy while gardening!

Amerisleep Mattress Reviews: 5 Years Later

This post is NOT sponsored by Amerisleep. Not in any way whatsoever. Unlike other "impartial" reviewers out there, I did not receive my mattress for free. All the opinions here are 100% my own.
*UPDATES*  A few months ago, Amerisleep started a new referral program. If you order through my link, you'll save an additional $50 on top of other discounts and specials! (THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!)
If you buy through my referral link, that would be swell because then I'll get a referral bonus from Amerisleep that I can use toward purchasing other memory foam products for the house we're about to break ground on hopefully any day nowwe're finally building (!!!), so placing your order through my link would be so helpful, especially as we're a bit (a lot!) over budget already. What's a better compliment than planning to buy more of the exact same product again? Plus, I very much appreciated online Amerisleep mattress reviews when trying to decide on t…

A Blogger's Before & After Guide to Chemical Peels

Considering a chemical peel? I recently underwent my first Jessner peel and thought I'd share my results, post a Jessner peel review, and answer some frequently asked chemical peel questions (I'm guessing that "Does a chemical peel hurt?" is a biggie!). I'd been planning to order an over-the-counter peel (this one specifically, which I still haven't tried but has great reviews) but my computer led me a different direction.

I decided to do this on a whim, after LivingSocial greeted me one morning with a great $40 chemical peel deal.
Now, I can read your mind. You just gasped in horror and thought You trusted your face to a discount chemical peel?! You're wondering where my mother was and why she didn't stop me. But not to worry. Really!
Here is my Jessner peel before and after:

Not too shabby, right? To be fair, the "before" is extra bad because the Je…

Dream Home Dreaming

We've finally broken ground on our mountain dream home! Can you believe it? Even more surprising, we actually managed to work a good chunk of this list into our actual design.

Original post:

Sexy Nerd wants to move up building our dream home to yesterday. I still don't know what I want though! Yes, it's difficult to decide on things like paint colors, flooring, and appliances. My problem is a bit worse.

Should we build one of those adorable 500 square feet mini houses? A (budget-friendly) mansion? A charming stone cottage?

The internet makes it easy to find great design ideas for building our dream house. The downside is that all my favorite photos combine to make an overpriced, mismatched conglomeration.

According to my Pinterest account, my dream house has:

...a dramatic front entrance...
 ...a charming brick fireplace...
...this eye-catching wall of mirrors...
...stone accents like these...
....a copper apron sink...
...a floor-to-ceiling windo…
