Old Amsterdam Cheese

Image
What kind of cheese is Old Amsterdam? Old Amsterdam is an aged Gouda cheese made of cow’s milk. Compared to a younger (not aged) Gouda, it has a harder texture, more deepened color, and an intense, buttery flavor with just a hint of sweetness. If you're a cheese simpleton like I used to be, you might see this post and wonder  What does Gouda taste like?  It has a strong, rich flavor. I think the best way to describe it is that Gouda tastes fancy. (Yes, fancy!)  Old Amsterdam Cheese FAQs, Recipes, & Wine Pairings - Gouda 101 for Cheese Simpletons Have you ever made a sandwich, only to have your slice of cheddar add pointless, wasted calories because you can't taste it among all the other ingredients? Coffee Whipped Cream

Image
You've surely seen the coffee whipped cream , also known as dalgona coffee, that is trending. It is popular for whipping equal parts instant coffee, water, and sugar into a thick glob.  I love to use this to enhance desserts, topping ice creams, puddings, cakes, and more with a creamy jolt of coffee flavor. In addition to being tastier than plain ol' dairy whipped cream, this is convenient because the ingredients are shelf stable. Perhaps best of all, coffee whipped cream is fat free, so you can totally indulge in a 3rd parfait! Coffee Whipped Cream So, how do you make Dalgona coffee AKA coffee whipped cream? Homestyle Salad with Knorr Homestyle Stock

Image
Out of all the recipes I've made with Knorr Homestyle Stock, my favorite use for it is as a salad dressing. Specifically,  my  Homestyle Mayonnaise .  It's the perfect complement to an assortment of veggies, leaving even my carnivorous Sexy Nerd happy to have a salad for dinner. Best of all, it is 100% unique and unlike any dressing you've ever made or picked up at the store. It looks so healthy, right? That's because it is. This is boring potato salad's New York cousin. Potatoes...and sweet potatoes! Together forever. How hodgepodged is this salad? We're throwing in the celery leaves. We're peeling our cucumber with pretty stripes because we're fancy like that. And egg! And broccoli! Homestyle Salad with Homestyle Mayonnaise (Recipe Yield: 6 servings)(Total Time: 30 minutes, including prep) 2 potatoes + 2 sweet potatoes, diced, boiled 20 minutes, and cooled in ice water 1/2 a bunch of celery, leaves and all 1 large cu

Hello Fresh Complaints

Image
Hello, my bloggy friends. I have a HelloFresh complaint and believe they are pulling a scam. Yours truly came *this close* to falling for it.  Maybe scam is too harsh of a word. Sneaky? You can decide for yourself. The fact that there are so many Hello Fresh complaints online does seem suspicious. Update:  Google is totally filling my site with Hello Fresh ads now, ugh. Also, since posting this  Hello Fresh complaints  article yesterday, I've already received this message from a reader: "I did order from Hello Fresh previously and was not charged what I was originally told (or thought I was told). Also, the food from them was anything but fresh and they refused to do a refund, only doing credit - even for the overcharges! So basically I ended up being out of money thanks to them." My main complaint about Hello Fresh has to do with their promotional rate, which seems like it is set up to be intentionally misleading (more on this below). Despite so many people complainin
